Rented property insurance

Rented property insurance is not the same as owner occupied property insurance, although for years the major property insurers were never clear about the difference. It took the major insurers some years before they found out that there was much of a difference, and to be fair they do recognise that now, but they are still focussed on buy to let insurance.

Similarly the commercial insurers do not really like to deal with rented domestic property, even if the property is being rented out and run as a business. For one thing it is a whole different set of risks and it also tends to be very low value work for them.
